Car Conversion
Although Jack is disabled he is still growing as a normal child would, therefore becoming very heavy to lift making it difficult to get him in and out of the car and to lift him into his wheelchair. In fact it requires two people to transport Jack due to the lifting requirements. For long term ease we have purchased a Toyota Tarago van, however it needs to be converted to transport a wheelchair.
Freedom Motors have been chosen to complete the conversion. The rear end of the vehicle is re-built lowering the floor, changing the fuel tank and fitting a ramp to the vehicle. The wheelchair is locked and secured into an automatic wheelchair restraint system called a docking station, which is located on the floor of the vehicle. To view a more comprehensive description of the conversion visit www.freedommotorsaustralia.com.au.
The cost of the conversion is $32,000.
