Jack is unable to walk or stand without support and has little stability/control of his limbs. He currently has a loan wheelchair through Novita/Domicillary Care Equipment; however this chair does not give him the appropriate support or functions that he needs. A purpose built wheelchair for Jack will give him the support, comfort, mobility and safety that he needs. The chair will be able to recline to accommodate his sleep patterns and will be fitted with all the necessary options, such as head rest, side supports, harness, pelvic strap, calf straps, heel loops, tray and a growth adjustable frame.
Jack will be fitted at a wheelchair clinic where various brands will be tried and the best option selected by experts in the field. An estimated quote for this wheelchair is $15,000.
